Everyone assumed that one of George Clooney’s besties, Brad Pitt would surely be there for his big day, but despite the long list of A-listers in attendance, the actor missed the lavish celebration.
As fans scanned the numerous images of everyone from Matt Damon and Cindy Crawford to Emily Blunt and John Krasinski, Brangelina weren’t spotted at all. As one of the most photographed celeb couple’s in the world, their absence was particularly noticeable. Ben Affleck, another one of George’s good friends, wasn’t there either.
But it turns out, they all had a pretty good excuse. Brad and Angelina were participating in international film shoots that required long hours to keep production costs down which meant that missing three days to jet off to Venice for the celebration just wasn’t possible. Ben was stuck working in New York promoting the release of his new movie, “Gone Girl.”
A source told E! News in regard to the newly wedded couple, “Both of them have worked on movies where this sort of issue has come up and so has George so of course he’ll completely understand and not feel snubbed by them or anything like that. This movie is such a great project for Brad and Angie and they have to stay focused and in the zone.”
Ben, the newest “Batman,” joked, “You know, some of us have to work. But yes, I congratulate him. It’s very exciting.”
The site also reports that despite not being able to get to Italy for the event, they are all “head over heels” in love with George’s new wife and believe that he has truly finally found the love of his life.
